The Senatorial Scorecard for the 111th Congress, with ratings and information for the U.S. Senate, is brought to you by That's My Congress and Irregular Times .The Progressive Action Score is the percent of a slate of progressive policies (promoting freedom, knowledge, an economy of opportunity, peace and environmental security) supported by a Senator. The Regressive Action Score is the percent of a slate of policies standing in opposition to progress that have been supported by a Senator. Our Net Congressional Score is the Progressive Action Score minus the Regressive Action Score; a perfectly progressive politician would earn a score of 100, while a completely regressive politician would merit a score of -100. As you can see in the ratings, our nation's actual politicians vary in between but do not touch these poles. Click on a Senator's name to learn more about the policies they support and oppose.
We frequently update these ratings as new bills are introduced, as members of the Senate add their cosponsorship to existing bills, and as roll call votes occur. Our most recent update of these scores occurred on January 19, 2011.
